Here are a few more prayer requests for the trip to Bolivia:
  • For the political situation to remain stable until we return.
  • That we would be able to help establish unity within the village.
  • That we would be an encouragement to the missionary families who are serving there.
  • We are also in need of an additional seat for one more team member, at this time there aren't any remaining seats on our flights.

In regards to the political situation over there, the elections were just completed and we received the okay to travel safely. The concern is that the official elected is very good friends with the president of Venezuela who has recently ordered all missionaries from the country. When this order went through there was quite a lot of hositility that errupted. It is possible that we only have a small window of time before Bolivia's president follows suit.

Thank you for your prayers.

Up for A Hike?

Two days ago I received a phone call from my friend Bob inquiring if I would like to join him and a few others on a hike. My immediate response was yes, when? He chuckled and said, "March 17th to the 25th." "That is quite a hike," was my response. And then I knew what he was talking about...it wasn't a hike here in the states, it was a "hike" to Bolivia.

About a month and a half ago, my dad had mentioned that his church had finally set up the dates to go to Bolivia. I remember thinking that would be an incredible opportunity. There were a lot of hesitations in me. Since my return from Romania 2 and a half years ago, I have sought the Lord numerous times about heading out again and continually His response has been, "Not yet." So, I prayed about it for a few days and then laid it at His feet and requested, "Father, if I am to go, please have someone contact me." I hadn't really thought about it since then, believing He would direct my steps.

When the call came and I realized what Bob was talking about there was a mix of laughter and tears :) The Lord has now shown me that it is time.

We will be going to Southern Bolivia to aid in the building of a training center. This facility will be used to equip the brethren of the Simba tribe so they can return to the outlying Indian communities with the Word of God.

Please keep these immediate requests in prayer for me and I will update as soon as I can regarding the needs of the mission:

  • Praise the Lord for the clearance that was granted to us after the elections, to enter into Bolivia.
  • Praise Him for this opportunity to join the ODB team on this incredible "hike."
  • Please pray for the hearts that we will encounter that they would be receptive.
  • I have had a medical concern that my doctor has been monitoring over the past few months. Please pray that I would continue to trust in Him no matter what His will would be, surgery or healing as well as His timing for all this.
  • Please pray for His provisions: the trip will cost $1150 with the majority due by 2/5.
Sunday we will have a meeting and will be given the details of the trip and the needs of those we will be going to minister to, I will post again as soon as I get a chance.
