Sacred Trust

Where He leads me I will follow; oft I've sung it blessed Lord.
Oft I've said with heart o'er flowing, I would follow at Thy word.
Now I stand in holy wonder, hushed and awed by pow'r divine
Stand before an open gateway, with my hand still clasping Thine.

Sacred trust, sacred trust, Oh blessed privilege
Theme befitting angel voices yet to me the trust is given
Oh my soul rejoice, rejoice! When the God of all creation bids me go
Naught in earth or hell can stay me, sacred trust.

Stretching onward, ever onward, lo a slender path I see
Leading to a land in darkness; Lord is that the path for me?
Trembling I ask the question; hushed I catch the low reply
In the darkness souls are dying, Blessed Master here am I.

Sacred trust, sacred trust, Oh blessed privilege
Theme befitting angels voices yet to me the trust is given
Oh my soul rejoice, rejoice! When the God of all creation bids me go
Naught in earth or hell can stay me, sacred trust.

Go, oh quickly go and tell them of My death on Calvary
Lead them to the cleansing fountain, flowing still so full and free
Tell them of that glorious morning when I left the empty tomb
Conq'ring death for them forever; tell them I am coming soon.

Sacred trust, sacred trust, Oh blessed privilege
Theme befitting angels voices yet to me the trust is given
Oh my soul rejoice, rejoice! When the God of all creation bids me go
Naught in earth or hell can stay me, sacred trust.

I just found the words to this hymn, it reflects my heart in days past as I let Him know I was willing to go where He would send me, now hearing Him gently leading me. Last July I heard this hymn for the first time. It was sung by my friend Jenny as she was leaving her life here in Virginia to go and serve full time in Bolivia. The flood of emotions I had for her and the awesome opportunity that was before her were overwhelming. Now, I stand in a similar place, a place of awe, standing before an open gateway leading to a land of darkness.

A Sad Reality

I ran across this post from a friend's website and thought it would cause some to really take a look at the church and maybe even provoke a change.

I believe this is more common than many Christians desire to recognize.

Update on Marc

We are now well into the month of March and my brother is still here in the states. I spoke with him earlier this week and for now there is a very slim possibility of sending them out again. Praise the Lord, it appears he will be here to welcome his son, Ryan Matthew, into the world in April.

Thanks again for the prayers and encouragement. Please continue to pray for all of our troops, those already deployed as well as those here preparing to be sent out.
This is a pic of Marc and his son Nathan during his leave last July.

I've got ants in my pants and its making me want to dance :) All morning I have had a difficult time sitting here at my desk.

This could be contributed to the average sleep I have had over the past week is about 5 hours and I am running completely on adrenaline.

Or the fact that I ate some of the most delicious dark chocolate (thank you Richard) at about 10 this morning and need an outlet for all the caffeine and sugar.

Possibly I am getting spring fever and have an itching to get outdoors and have some fun. Anyone up for a hike? If yes, e-mail me and I'll plan a trip before I leave the country.

Today, I am missing those beautiful Arizona mountains. To set my feet on them, it is the perfect time of year to get off of work and hit the moutains...Manda, Hannah, Robin, Lauren (my old hiking buddies) I hope you all aren't taking for granted the gift you have sitting right outside your doors. If you are, let me know, I will get you all connected and you can take a trip together for me.

This weekend was just what I needed. Putting aside all the plans and preparations for the office and my time in Japan, I went and spent a few days with some good friends in Maryland.

To sum up our weekend:

There were antics to get the Queen Bee out of her hive and to her suprise party!!

There was fellowship with one of my dearest sisters in the Lord and two of her precious girls, my assistant chefs.

Beautiful scenery

And constant entertainment with everything from dancing pockets, to "Rock, paper, HUMMINGBIRD!" and "Runny Babbit" from my very own recording artist Uncle Scope.

And don't forget..."The dentist always wins."

Thank you all for a wonderful, much needed break away from the busyness of life...for the late night talks and many laughs...I hope we don't have to wait another year before we all get together again.

Oh, and remember Abraham and Sarah, despite the circumstances surrounding us, take one day at a time and our dreams can come true, believe, the Lord is working even when we can't see it :)

I love you guys!!
