Psalms 33

Well, we are less than 2 weeks from heading to Bolivia. As I was reading the Word yesterday morning, the Lord gave me this Psalm.

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.
Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto Him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.
For the word of the Lord is right; and all His works are done in truth.
He loveth righteousness and judgement: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breadth of His mouth.
He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: He layeth up the depth in storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.
The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: He maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.
The Lord looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men.
From the place of His habitation He looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
He fashioneth their hearts alike; He considereth all their works.
There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his strength.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him upon them that hope in His mercy;
To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waiteth for the Lord: He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name.
Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in Thee.

As I read this Psalm yesterday, I know it is for this time, for the team I am traveling with and myself. We had a meeting on Saturday evening, one to get to know one another, to share what the Lord has been doing over the last month to prepare each of us, so many praises. We were also informed of some dangers we may encounter, things we need to be in prayer for.

This chapter encouraged me, covering so many aspects of this time.

Some answers to prayer:
  • Almost all of the $18,000 has come in, we are only a few hundred shy of that.
  • We were able to get the additional seat needed for our remaining team member.
  • The Lord provided free tetanus shots to all team members who needed them.
  • My medical concern has been taken care of that I can now safely travel.
  • The Lord has reconciled some relationships within the families and friends of some of the team members through this journey.
Prayer requests:
  • The government is planning on putting up a road block which will force all missionaries who are currently in the village we are traveling to out and also keep us from going in. The plan is to have it up within the next week or so.
  • One of our team members is of Canadian citizenship and has been having difficulty obtaining approval for his passport.
  • The remaining portion of the money to come in.
  • There is a team member who has some fears of leaving the country, he knows he is to go and knows that the fears are from the enemy.
  • If the roadblock goes up, heart to clearly receive direction from the Lord as to where He would have us work down there. The roadblock will not be one intended to keep foreigners out of the country.
  • The native missionaries faith to be strengthened. That they would have complete hope and trust in Christ.
